Crimson Polaris oil spill 02


CRIMSON POLARIS, a dedicated wood chip ship chartered by NYK, ran aground off Hachinohe on Wednesday, August 11th, and the hull was divided and oiled at 04:15 am on the 12th. Confirmed the outflow. The amount of spilled oil is currently under investigation.


The divided hull floats about 2.4 miles offshore from the land, and on-site response is being carried out by the Japan Coast Guard patrol boats, tugboats, etc.
